About Jameson Mobile Safari
Nestled in the vibrant heart of Maun, Botswana—the undisputed gateway to the majestic Okavango Delta—Jameson Mobile Safari was born from a deep-rooted passion for the untamed wilderness of Africa. Founded in 2012 by wildlife enthusiast and local guide Jameson, our company embodies the spirit of adventure, authenticity, and respect for the natural world that defines Botswana's iconic landscapes.
Our Story
Jameson grew up in the dusty outskirts of Maun, where the call of the wild echoed through his childhood. As a young herder in the nearby villages, he learned the rhythms of the bush from his Setswana elders—tracking animal prints in the sand, reading the whispers of the wind, and understanding the delicate balance of ecosystems. After years honing his skills as a safari guide for international operators, Jameson envisioned something more intimate: mobile safaris that strip away the barriers between travelers and nature, without the crowds or comforts of permanent lodges.
Today, Jameson Mobile Safari is a proudly Botswana-owned and operated venture, employing a team of 15 dedicated locals, including expert trackers, chefs, and camp crew, all trained in sustainable tourism practices. We've taken over 5,000 adventurers on journeys that have forged lifelong memories, from first-time families to seasoned explorers seeking the raw thrill of the Delta.
What We Do
At Jameson Mobile Safari, we specialize in fully customizable mobile tented safaris, where you become one with the wilderness. Our expeditions traverse Botswana's crown jewels:
- Okavango Delta: Glide through papyrus-lined channels in traditional mokoro canoes, spotting hippos, elephants, and rare sitatunga antelope.
- Moremi Game Reserve: Dawn game drives revealing lion prides and leopard ambushes amid floodplains teeming with birdlife.
- Chobe National Park: Riverfront encounters with massive elephant herds quenching their thirst at sunset.
- Makgadikgadi Pans: Otherworldly salt flats and ancient baobabs under starlit skies.
We handle everything: luxury en-suite tents with hot bucket showers, gourmet bush meals cooked over open fires, and 4x4 vehicles equipped for off-road immersion. All safaris are private or semi-private (max 6 guests per vehicle), ensuring personalized storytelling from your guide—Jameson himself often leads flagship trips.
