Equipment Provided on a Mobile Safari
Mobile safaris, including those like Jameson Mobile Safari, are fully serviced (also called "fully catered" or "participation-free"). The operator handles all setup, takedown, cooking, and logistics—you just enjoy the experience. Here's what reputable operators typically provide:
Tents: Spacious dome or canvas tents (usually 3–4m x 3m or larger) with comfortable camp beds or stretchers, mattresses, pillows, sheets, duvets/blankets, and sometimes a sleeping bag liner for extra warmth.
En-suite Facilities: Private bush toilet (chemical or long-drop) and bucket shower per tent—hot water is heated over the fire and hoisted up on request (usually 10–20 liters per shower).
Camp Setup: Dining tent or open-air mess area with tables and camp chairs; campfire area for evenings; solar or LED lanterns for lighting inside tents and around camp.
Vehicles and Activities: Open-sided 4x4 game drive vehicles (seating 6–9 guests, with shaded roofs); all fuel, park fees, and guiding included. Mokoro poles and canoes if in the Delta.
Meals and Drinks: All meals (cooked by a dedicated chef), snacks, bottled water, local beers, wines, and soft drinks. Dietary needs are accommodated if informed in advance.
Other: Towels, basic amenities (sometimes soap/shampoo), and charging facilities (via vehicle inverter or solar—limited, so bring power banks).
